FARRIS AND BELLE

Timber Frame Shelter

Farris and Belle Parker, married in 1973, are the parents of two sons, Farris C. Parker III (Trey) and Andrew C. Parker (Andy). Farris graduated from Clemson University in 1973 with a degree in Animal Science. He then accepted a job with the Clemson Extension Service, where he worked for five years, before resigning to form White Oak Egg Farms, Inc. Along with a farming career, Farris served as Conservation Commissioner in the McCormick Soil and Water Conservation District for 20 years. Belle has spent the last 30 years in the nursing field. She holds bachelor of science degrees from Lander University and the Medical University of South Carolina. She is currently employed by the South Carolina Department of Corrections as the Director of Nursing for a women’s correctional institution.

After building his own home and moving to the farm, Farris became involved in the cattle business and egg production. Farris, always intrigued with building, decided to diversify. After obtaining his Residential Contractor’s License, he began building a few homes. He did not advertise, due to his responsibilities on the farm, but built numerous homes his first few years. These were mainly homes for friends, but also several rental properties which he and his family still own. Today Farris and his sons are focusing primarily on their construction company, Parker Builders, Inc.

TREY

Trey was an honor graduate at Camden Military Academy in 1994. After high school, Trey attended several colleges including Spartanburg Methodist College where he played soccer, and North Greenville College where he played college football. Trey soon discovered that his passion, like his father, was in construction so he moved to Colorado where he became a Freelance Carpenter under the trade name Parker West Construction. While in Colorado, Trey worked on several commercial housing projects and residential developments located in areas such as Denver, Vail, Boulder, and Summit County. It was there that he gained extensive knowledge in the construction field. Trey has since moved back to South Carolina to join efforts with his father and brother at Parker Builders.
